This is a hard time for everyone and we are with you. To ensure patients have safe access to medical care, whilst reducing exposure risk to other patients and healthcare workers, Beach Street Family Medicine has taken stringent measures to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Appointments are available via Telehealth, as well as ‘in-person’ consultations at the clinic. Please be aware that Telehealth appointments aren't always conducted at the specific time you have booked so please ensure you have your phone available. 
 

Please note that facemasks are mandatory for entry into the premises.

All cosmetic procedures such as lip fillers, anti wrinkle injections and dermal fillers are subject to the current restrictions in place. For further information please call reception.

COVID-19 FAQ

  • Who is eligible for the Covid 19 Vaccine? 
    As per Government guidelines, after May 17 (17/5/21), those aged 50 and above will be eligible for the vaccine. 

    Prior to that, only those as part of Phase 1B are eligible:
    – Elderly adults aged 70-79 years
    – Other health care workers
    – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people > 55
    – Adults with an underlying medical condition, including those with a disability
    – Critical and high risk workers including defence, police, fire, emergency services and meat processing
     

  • Can I book an appointment to be vaccinated at Beach Street Family Medicine?
    -YES! You can now book an appointment by calling our reception to receive both the first and second doses of the vaccine. Call now on 9781 5177.
     

  • How many doses are needed and when?
    - The COVID-19 Vaccine is administered in two doses, delivered 12 weeks apart.
     

  • How long do I need to wait between my COVID-19 dose and my Flu shot?
    -The Australian Government has recommended a gap of at least TWO WEEKS between the Flu and COVID-19 vaccines. It does not matter which vaccine is given first.
     

  • How much does the COVID-19 vaccine cost?
    -The COVID-19 Vaccine is provided and administered at NO COST to all eligible Medicare Card holders. If you're not a Medicare card holder, please call your local GP-led respiratory clinic or a state/territory vaccination clinic.
     

  • Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe? 
    - Yes, the COVID-19 vaccine has been carefully assessed by the TGA and has been approved for use in Australia.

HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID19:

  • We DO NOT test for COVID19 at Beach Street Family Medicine. Please go to your local authorised pop-up testing facility or authorised COVID19 test site. 
     

  • Do not attend the practice if you have fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough or any other symptoms of COVID19. Call reception for instruction on how to see your doctor. 
     

  • Please be kind to our staff and each other. We ask that you wear a mask at all times on the premises. Prior to entering the premises, a staff member will check your temperature.
